Leaving The Last Frontier

This is what our car ended up looking like when it was time to head back to the airport. Yes it looks like we were leaving in the late evening but it was 9:00am. I didnt realize that Tony had never seen a car like this. We have winter in Washington and I know what its like to have to defrost your car and scrap ice. Guess this doesnt happen in Georgia. The first thing he did was flip the switch for the wipers, now I know what my parents felt like when we did it. I had to explain that the wipers could be frozen and he just broke them OR the snow is to heavy and they wont work anyway. I gave him the rundown on what to do. Alaska was AMAZING and we really enjoyed it. We stayed really busy and active but it still felt like a vacation. We didnt get up at the crack of dawn because it was too dark and everything was still closed. We had breakfast together every morning which was something new for us. We always leave home before normal people have breakfast, it was a nice change. We played in the snow and were outside as much as we could be and did as much as we could in our area. Nights consisted of having dinner at the local restaurants and renting a movie from our tv in the room. It was cheaper to do that than drive into anchorage to go to a movie theater and its much more comfortable to watch a movie in your pj's than it is to drive in ice and snow! We made sure we visited the hot tub every night so we could continue to perform well on the mountain with our snowboards. We didnt realize how much that helped to relax our muscles until we got back and every muscle in our legs were tight and tense. We loved our vacation and now its time to start thinking about where we would like to go next! Hope you enjoyed our Alaskan Adventure.
