Hansen: Stand Up Paddle Boards

We decided to have some fun on the ocean and have a memorable souvenir from Hawaii so we bought stand up paddle boards!!! We love them, they are so much fun. Our boards are fairly short but they are easy enough for us to use. If they are shorter it usually means you can surf on them but we bought short ones so they would fit on our car. We look local!! We actually probably don't pass as local since the person not driving the car spends a lot of time looking up to make sure the boards are still there and didn't fly off! We have enjoyed them and spend a lot more time out on the water with them. We've had the opportunity to see lots of turtles swimming around while on our boards. One day we were out on our boards and Tony was paddling by me while I was laying on my board hanging out, looking at the water. A few seconds later something surfaced next to me really fast which caused me to freak out and squeal, this made Tony turn around AND fall off of his board. It turns out, all it was was a turtle surfacing to take a breathe. The water wasn't very clear that day so I didn't see it until it popped out of the water giving me a heart attack. Guess I'm not used to things living in the water yet. Now we are expert turtle watchers and I kind of chase them while on my board. Tony yells at me but I just like to watch them.... We've also had some nice beach days with our friends and they have used our boards and goofed off in the ocean with us. I think we are going to miss this place a little more than we think we are.

We went splashing around with some friends and had a GREAT time. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed each others company. We sure are going to miss them, they are actually leaving the island before we are......
