Mothers Day

"No ordinary work done by a man is either as hard or as responsible as the work of a woman who is bringing up a family of small children; for upon her time and strength demands are made not only every hour of the day but often every hour of the night." - Theodore Roosevelt

I love my mom very much and am soooo very great full for what she has done for me. She supports me in everything I do and has been a constant cheerleader in my life. You may be wondering how this ties into the quote in the beginning and it honestly has nothing to do with my mom. This is for another mom I know, my sister. Yes, she is a single mom but I have so much love and respect for her. While visiting home I decided to do everything that she does but I didn't tell her this until the end of my trip. I stayed up late with Michael every night until he went to bed and my faithful alarm clock Rafi went off every morning at the crack of dawn. I would take him out and start my day with him. My sister always said she could take him so I could go back to sleep and I always declined. I stood there through tantrums, diaper changing, feeding them meals, nap time, playing outside, brotherly beatings, the boo boos, the I love you's and snuggles. I found out the true meaning of exhaustion and how hard it is to do things by yourself. My parents do help her and so do I as much as I can but she really is the one that goes through the good and the bad. I admire her for doing this. It isn't easy and I'm surprised she doesn't fall into pieces, I think I would have but somehow she keeps going and pushing through. I have a small idea what it would be like to walk in her shoes but I also know that 5 days is a very small perspective of what she does on a daily basis. I think she is doing a great job with the task that has been handed to her. The terrible twos are called that for a reason but I know she will get through it and she has two great little boys. I know they will make her very proud, just remember it will get easier and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You are a fantastic mother, especially because you make sure they know who their Tia is!!

Strong One
When God made woman I wonder sometimes
If it was a flower he had in mind when he made her
A touch as gentle as a butterfly
A kiss so sweet it could stop time forever
God gave man a chance to be the kind of strength a woman needs
He was suppose to be the one to carry that load

But there she goes
Baby in her arms
World on her shoulders when her day starts
Working a job that don't pay much
but she thanks God it's enough

There she is on her own two feet
He walked out but she's still got dreams
Trys to laugh when she feels like crying
Nobody'd blame her if she stopped trying
But she's got a heart that gives and gives
Now you tell me who the strong one is

Tonight's the first night in a while
She'll put on her makeup wearing a smile
She's going out And everything was all planned out
but the fever that the baby's got now
It's all shot down
She gives up what she wants to do for what she has to
That's what a momma does
She'll be there like she always is when the sun comes up

And there she goes
Baby in her arms
World on her shoulders when her day starts
Working a job that don't pay much
but she thanks God it's enough

There she is on her own two feet
He walked out but she's still got dreams
Trys to laugh when she feels like crying
Nobody'd blame her if she stopped trying
But she's got a heart that gives and gives
So you tell me who the strong one is
You tell me who the strong one is.
